Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piling, also known as auger cast-in-place piles, is an advanced deep foundation technique that combines speed, efficiency, and minimal environmental impact. The CFA method involves drilling a continuous hollow-stemmed auger to the required depth, then pumping high-quality concrete through the hollow stem as the auger is withdrawn, creating a continuous concrete pile shaft.

THE CFA PROCESS

CFA pile installation follows a streamlined process:

• Auger Advancement: The continuous flight auger is rotated into the ground to design depth without removing soil
• Concrete Pumping: High-slump concrete is pumped through the hollow stem under controlled pressure
• Auger Extraction: The auger is slowly withdrawn while maintaining concrete pressure to prevent soil ingress
• Reinforcement Installation: Steel reinforcement cage is vibrated into the fresh concrete column
• Real-time Monitoring: Advanced computer systems monitor drilling parameters and concrete volume
